If you "updated" it through the app, there is also the possibility that the program was modified to make it look like it was updating, but really just sat there and pretended to update, and then after a few minutes wrapped it up and called it done, and updated the version number in the "About" window. It's really impossible for me to say without having the software and doing some analysis. ![]() Others will check for a valid license every time the program runs. Some will only check for the license on the initial installation. Some software designers will have it check for a valid license / installation every time it updates. I truly don't know, it depends on how Intuit wrote their software.
